Support for students in specific circumstances 

Some students, for example care leavers or estranged students, face additional expense and challenges, so we provide targeted financial and practical support. You could be eligible for a 香蕉直播 bursary; support with your accommodation, travel or study costs, free parking, free access to gym and fitness facilities, and student employment opportunities.

Support for students on specific courses

Some courses attract specific funding or offer specific scholarships and bursaries.

The provides students on eligible courses with financial support of between £5,000–£8,000 per year that does not need to be paid back.

Receiving this support won't affect other funding you're entitled to such as maintenance loans, disabled student allowances and university bursaries.

The Paxton Scholarship is a competitive scholarship for second year STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) students.

Successful applicants get a three-month paid summer internship working on live engineering and development projects, career guidance and generous funding towards their final year of study.

Access to a personal computer is strongly recommended to enable you to make the most of your studies and our online learning environment.

Textbooks, stationery and other supplies

Our libraries provide access to textbooks and online resources free of charge. Your course page has advice on likely costs if you choose to buy your own books, as well as typical costs for printing and binding of projects, dissertations and posters. Stationery is available on campus at competitive prices from the Brighton Students’ Union shops. You may need to budget for printing and photocopying – facilities are available on campus.

Food and drink for mandatory study and field trips

Travel and accommodation costs for mandatory trips are generally included in your tuition fee but you’ll need to budget for food. 

Optional study and field trips

These are generally not included in the tuition fee. If you choose to go on optional trips you can expect to pay either a contribution or the full cost of travel and accommodation as well as for your food.

Accommodation costs

We offer halls of residence on or very close to each of our campuses in Brighton. Our rents include contents insurance; utilities – electricity, water and broadband; 24/7 security; residential wellbeing teams and cleaning of communal areas.

Travel costs to and from the university campus

Brighton and our campuses are well-served by public transport and there are great discounts available when travelling by bus and rail. The offering huge discounts to students travelling to Brighton from Worthing and Eastbourne/Seaford.

Travel costs to and from placement

You will be responsible for the cost of travel to and from your placements in the UK and overseas. For some courses you may be able to reclaim travel costs and students on international placement may be eligible for support from the Turing Scheme.
