Our students are unique individuals, so our courses take a flexible and inclusive approach to learning and assessment.

Our flexible and contextual admissions policy means that when we offer you a place, we look at who you are and consider your experiences and potential, as well as your grades.

We’ll support your transition from school to university, offering you personalised learning and support.

Your career and employability

At Brighton, employability is worked into all our courses through a practical approach to teaching and learning.

We’ll encourage you to complete a placement, internship or volunteering role, whatever you study. These include placements which may be an integral part of the course, or additional work and volunteering placements, which are all supported by our specialist Placements Internships and Volunteering team.

You’ll also have the opportunity to undertake a variety of work experience, including field trips, work shadowing, competitions, real-world projects, and much more.

A strong support system

We don’t just want you to succeed, we want you to feel good too; about yourself and your life, as well as your studies.

It’s not just about knowing how to get help in the bad times – it's about being part of a supportive community that builds you up.

We’ll help you to prioritise your emotional and mental wellbeing with a support system that includes teams of advisers and specialists who are here for you.

Your accommodation – home away from home

Every eligible student is guaranteed a place in halls of residence.

We have halls of residence at each of our three campuses in Brighton - City, Moulsecoomb and Falmer.

Each of our university halls has a Residential Wellbeing Team to help you with the transition to university, and to support you throughout the year.

Finding the right home is a big part of getting the most out of your university experience, and our accommodation team is here to help. They have years of experience, great local knowledge and can advise you on all your options.

Going to university is a great investment, but we know the cost can be a worry.

The Brighton Boost will help you to make the best possible start – with discounts and bursaries to support your cost of living and university services that make everyday things just that little bit easier.

Your space – our campuses

We have three campuses across Brighton, all within easy reach of the city centre, the beach, and some beautiful countryside.

Our City campus is in Brighton city centre. Specialist facilities, studio space and our world-class Design Archives all make for an inspiring environment where creativity thrives.

Moulsecoomb is our biggest campus and student village, just two miles north of Brighton city centre. Over 900 students live on campus in our halls.

Set in the South Downs, our Falmer campus is around four miles from Brighton city centre. Brighton and Hove Albion's Amex stadium and beautiful Stanmer Park are right next door.

Your city – a place like no other

Brighton is in the top 10 UK best student cities, and in the top 100 worldwide, according to the QS rankings.

Our city is a place where everyone belongs. It’s stimulating, exciting, inclusive and friendly: big enough to be inspiring and small enough to feel like home.

And Brighton is a very well-connected city – it takes half an hour to Gatwick Airport by train, just over an hour to London, and around 2 hours to almost anywhere on the south coast.
