Psycho-oncology is concerned with the impact that cancer has on the emotional, psychological and social well-being of patients and their families at all stages of disease, from diagnosis, during survival and at the end of life. Research within this area is broad and ranges from understanding patients’ experiences of cancer, side effects of treatment and what can be done to help, through to improving communication and information about new treatments and trials.
