Laura said: “I believe images need to captivate and evoke emotion, and so, with every frame I shoot, I consider the elements within the frame and outside it.”
Laura graduated in 2009, with Photography BA(Hons) and since then has received numerous awards among which are the Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, Vic Odden award, World Press Photo awards and the Prix de la Photographie.
In 2017, her portrait of Star Wars actress Felicity Jones was exhibited at the , following a commission arising from Laura's triumph in the 2014 John Kobal New Work Award, an annual prize awarded to a photographer under thirty-five.
In 2019, Laura was also highlighted in the Single Image category for her photograph ‘.
Now based in London, Laura's work has been exhibited in the UK at the National Portrait Gallery, Saatchi Gallery, Somerset House and the Royal Festival Hall, as well as galleries in France, Italy, Switzerland, USA, Canada and Australia.
Reflecting on her time at Brighton, Laura said: “At Brighton I had the opportunity to work alongside some amazing students and friends. The all-inclusive wonderful environment created an inspiring time for me to explore photography. I am very grateful.”
