Production intern offered big break

Illustration graduate Hannah Lane got her big break after doing a week-long paid internship with an award-winning creative content agency in London.

The company was so impressed with Hannah that they extended her internship by several months before offering her a full-time role as a production assistant. She now works as a producer at a creative agency in East London.

Meet Hannah

After graduating, Hannah started working on her own independent film projects, after discovering a love for filmmaking on her BA Illustration degree.

Spurred on by her love for film, she started looking for an internship in production. Her big break came when she was offered a week-long paid internship.

“I loved it!” she said. “And luckily they liked me, and this was extended to a month, then rolled on to another two, until I was finally offered a full-time role as a production assistant.”

Hannah stayed with the company for three years, working her way up through the ranks.

Now

Hannah now works as a producer at a creative agency in East London. Her job sees her oversee and organise shoots from idea through to delivery. This includes TV commercials, online ads and printed media.

“I get to bring together an idea and find other creatives who will help deliver the project in the best way possible. It’s a mix of being creative but organised - lots of tick lists!"

 

She added: "I really like not being in an office all day. I get to go to shoots and see an idea come to life.”

Hannah has recently worked on a series of commercials that were shown in cinemas across the UK. “It was amazing to go watch a film and see a project that I've been working on for a couple of months on the big screen!”
