Fionnuala Richardson and Chloe Chatton, who are both studying law with business at the Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ finished third in the Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition hosted by the University of Windsor in Ontario.
In March the pair saw off domestic competition to earn the right to represent England and Wales in the international contest where they came up against law students from around 20 countries including USA, Canada, Germany, Nigeria, India and Malaysia.
The competition tests students’ legal knowledge and interviewing skills.
Speaking after the pair’s success Chloe Chatton said: “It was amazing to be able to represent England and Wales in the international competition. We’re so happy that we made it to the final round!
“It was a brilliant week and so lovely to meet competitors from around the world.”
Jeanette Ashton, senior law lecturer at the Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ said: “It was a great pleasure to coach Fi and Chloe. They have worked so hard and that really paid off as they competed against winning teams from all around the world. We were delighted to see them make it to the international final so to make it through to the final round was incredible, particularly given that many of the competitors were postgraduate law students and several had finished their studies and were working in practice. What a fantastic finish to their law degrees!”
